Recycling
Recycling waste is one of Shanks’ core competencies and as such, sustainability is strongly embedded in the company is. Annually the Shanks Nederland companies process more than four million tonnes of waste. More than 87% of this is recycled and used again, for example as new raw materials:
- Cleaned soil is used in infrastructure projects.
- Woodchips are made from waste wood for the chipboard industry.
- Compost is produced for the agricultural sector from greenwaste.
