Concerns for a sustainable environment are inextricably linked with efficient and responsible waste disposal. Waste disposal that is primarily focused on the reuse of materials. Wellknown examples are the recycling of paper, glass and metals. But for many other types of (mixed) waste, recycling is not always immediately possible. Sometimes the waste has to be sorted, manipulated and / or processed first. Shanks has the expertise and resources to make the vast majority of waste types suitable for recycling.
Shanks has a clear strategy. We collect waste and residue and process this into something useful. The policy of Shanks has resulted in over 86% of our collected waste being recovered and used in a useful way. An approach that explicitly connects to the Dutch policy in which the Ladder of Lansink is a central part. And because we regard the Dutch environmental policy as normative, Shanks complies with the most extensive environmental requirements.
